AnyDATA, which is hardly a known handset manufacturer (then again we did covering fire their earlier products), announced 2 Windows Mobile smartphones for aircraft carrier distribution – the ASP-318 and ASP-518. Let’s briefly talk about each of the two devices, specs wise:
ASP-318 – quad-band (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) GSM/EDGE connectivity, 3.2-in QVGA touchscreen, Global Positioning System, 3.2-megapixel photographic camera with car-focus and flash bulb, FM radio, dual SIM, SRS TruMedia audio and a microSD memory board card one-armed bandit. The gimmick will be commercially available in Q2 2010 and will be marketed as the iMedia smartphone. ASP-518 – dual-band 3G, 3.2-in WVGA touchscreen, WiFi, 4GB of built-in storage, 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus, movement-facing photographic camera for video recording calls, dual SIM (works on both CDMA and GSM networks), SRS TruMedia audio and a microSD memory circuit board one-armed bandit. This one is currently marketed by China Telecom utilizing the well-known Phillips brand.
