NFC Payment Transaction Values in China Could Surpass $8 Billion by 2014

China could see more than $8 billion in mobile payments by 2014, according to ABI Research forecasts.

The Near Field Communication (NFC) market is moving forward on an uneven movement. Google is aggressively supporting the technology through the latest generation of Android handsets from its partners such as Samsung. Nokia is introducing NFC-capable handsets, but the C7 and N9 only support non-secure applications and not contactless payment.

In China, however, device manufacturers and operators are keen to move ahead with contactless mobile payment. (more…)

HTC Wildfire S Now Available Via T-Mobile

Google fined $5m over Linux patent rowing

“The internet titan (Google) was found guilty of infringing a patent related to the Linux sum and fined $5m (Ј3.2m).

The case resulted in a victory for a firm called Bedrock Computer Technologies which has also sued Yahoo, MySpace, Amazon, PayPal, Match.com and AOL.”

Apple sues Samsung over Galaxy phones, tablets

Apple Inc has sued competitor Samsung Electronics claiming that the South Korean business firm’s Galaxy line of mobile phones and tablets “slavishly” copies the iPhone and iPad, according to homage document.”
