The Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N97 will no thirster be offered by UK hustler Orange River after sources told Mobile Magazine that the reappearance rates of the device was “quite high”. In other hustler related newsworthiness Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) said it is no longer leaving to launch the Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) XPERIA X2 since it was significantly delayed and no it no longer fits in their portfolio.

Nokia N96 gets an update, too; Firmware reaches 20.050

Nokia (NYSE: NOK) has actually unveiled the updated firmware variant for its N96 modelling before they did the same for the N79 and N85. Yeah, we missed it, but it’s here now, nonetheless.

As usual, the latest microcode fixes many of the known bugs from the previous firmware, ensuring the gimmick is more stable than before. In summation, some of the existing applications are updated, and there ar also some new apps included with the microcode upgrade.

It looks like the UK’s iPhone 3G aircraft carrier is preparing to pit the iPhone 3G against the GSM variant of the Palm Pre. Nokia N97: Hands-on with Nokia’s latest mobile computer

When you twist on the Nokia N97 for the first meter, it takes a while to get going, as if you were booting up a new PC for the first base meter.

Our first impressions of the Nokia N97 are positive. Its materials are all nice to the touch and the opening mechanism feels reassuringly solid.
