WiMAX On Track to Cover Thomas More 1 Billion People Worldwide by 2011

The WiMAX Forum® today revealed that WiMAX overhaul providers now go networks application more than 620 million people (or POPS) in approximately 147 countries and ar on stride to surpass the already forecasted 800 meg POPs by end of 2010. Google Voice adds multi-recipient role SMS

Hear that? Now you tin add multiple recipients to your text messages with Google Voice. Simple add more numbers a la GMail and smash “Send” – it’s that easy. No official announcements were made, though, and we curiosity why that’s the case. After all multi-recipient role SMS was unity of the circus tent requested features.

Anyway, it’s good to see Google (NSDQ: GOOG)’s hearing and keeps improving its Voice service. Way to go!

Wow, ALK Technologies mustiness be happy with the great class they’ve had – firstly, releasing what I think is the best Sat Nav software for the iPhone (at half the monetary value of some of their competitors), and then coming in at Number 1 in terms of paid-for Apps downloads (in the UK)!

This is what happens when certain Chinese “designers” beginning using their imagination. Instead of going for something really master, they decided to commixture 2 high gear-end brands, hoping no 1 volition observation. Or at least, I father’t know how else to explain the existence of the fake Lamborghini Vertu earphone. Actually, when you think about it – it’s not a juke gimmick, as there’s no such original handset. Asus wanted to make a Lamborghini phone, but canceled it. (more…)

Carl Rogers Eliminating System Access Fee, Replacing with Government Regulatory Recovery Fee

Starting October 5, Rogers (NYSE: RCI) will be eliminating the long-hated “System Access Fee” for new subscribers, which totals around $6.95 every calendar month. The SAF will be replaced with what they’re calling the “Government Regulatory Recovery Fee”, which volition stove between $2.52 and $3.49 per occupation per mont, depending on provincial 911 fees. DYA Cell Phone Concept from Aran Mun

Here’s a cool little concept device. Not sure how practical it’d be, but it sure is unique. Named the ‘DYA Cell Phone’, Designer Aran Mun designed this single to surface diagonally (yep, a diagonal slider) to shuffle or receive calls. Buttons are round and soft to the touch, which would shuffle for easy and comfortable dialing. Call it ’strange’ if you like, but I’m departure to stick to ‘unique’ for now.
