Report: US smartphone mobile app marketplace to qualifying $4 billion mark by 2013

The mobile applications quad is booming. Apple (NSDQ: AAPL)’s AppStore saw almost 1,400 iPhone apps launch in just a single solar day, that, in and of itself, could be taken as grounds that mobile apps ar hot. And, with the increasing popularity of smartphones, mobile apps will continue to be a hot topic. So hot, in fact, that a new reputation from marketplace enquiry firm Yankee Group has prognosis that smartphone mobile apps will driving force $4.2 billion in receipts through the US by 2013. That outgrowth rides on the back of an expected smartphone-upsurge that should take the US fleet of roughly 40 million smartphones to about 160 million in figure by 2013.

The Yankee Group says that a quarter of all smartphone app downloads in 2013 will be paid apps. Today might be the eld of the $0.99 paid app, but the norm cost of apps is expected to rise to $2.37 in the next five years. But, says the reputation, the winner of paid apps will flexible joint on merchandising and promotional campaigns that drive consumers to the apps.

In that case, anyone have a goodness idea for an iPhone app?
