RIM VP of Accessories, Antoine Boucher, apparently let slip that in between working on a new Bluetooth headset computer code-named Alpha 1, they’re also development a vigil add-on that will show e-mail, BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Messenger, Facebook, and SMS textual matter alerts as wellspring as pushing medicine from your smartphone to the cable car stereo by FM transmission. I’m a little dubious about this rumor, since it was supposedly gleaned from WES, the big BlackBerry conference of the year that happened quaternity months ago – it just seems like a long meter to sit on this kind of information. However, a RIM VP is acquiring quoted here as opposed to some anonymous source, and considering how agressively RIM has been leaving after the add-on market with the likes of the Remote Stereo Gateway and Bluetooth Visor, I wouldn’t put it past them to be getting into watches (though I wouldn’t hold my hint).

If a BlackBerry vigil were to happen, the shape gene makes more gumption as an add-on to a smartphone, like with the LG Prada Link, as opposed to organism the headphone itself, like we’re eyesight with LG’s merchandise. Sure, the fallal value of making video calls into your watch is high gear, but from a practical point of view, you can’t really tally on the assault and battery pickings you through a whole thing twenty-four hours, let alone organism easy to use. Hopefully we’ll get a few more hints of this gimmick soon (that is, if it exists) – it would be really nice to have the same at-a-glimpse functionality of the Pearl Flip’s external display across other BlackBerrys and smartphones.
