Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) CEO Steve Ballmer reportedly had some variety words for its long-meter opposition Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) and its App Store. Will wonders never cease?

There’s a big difference in the launch of the HD2 on T-Mobile River than most other launches of devices. The aircraft carrier wants those looking for phones, and a media gimmick, to know that there’s no bettor way to do that than the 4.3-inch blind of the HD2. It’s still rocking Windows Mobile 6.5 (and some say that’s not a badness matter), but it’s covered up incredibly well by HTC’s Sense UI. On the media-end of things, we’ve got Blockbuster On Demand services, MobiTV for television on the go, as well as two movies pre-loaded on the gimmick: Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

So, if you’re in the marketplace for a new phone, and you’re mulct waiting at least a twosome more weeks, then it would probably do you some good to looking over at the fuchsia-themed aircraft carrier. By now it’s open that Nokia (New York Stock Exchange: NOK) needs to really up their game when it comes to creating a touchscreen user experience that can compete with every one of the big smartphone chopine out there (iPhone, Android, webOS, Windows Phone 7). Their solution? Why, Symbian^4, of course of action. What you see here ar a duo “first glimpse” preview videos of the still-in-development Symbian^4 substance abuser interface that Nokia is hoping will compete with the iPhone. If this were a few days ago, we’d be all for Nokia’s upcoming Symbian oblation. But, it’s not, so we aren’t.

The Finnish earpiece maker is distillery without rival in the mobile space, what with their 45%+ share of the global cellular telephone marketplace, but they’re losing marketplace share on a quarterly foundation. Part of the trouble is Nokia’s lack of a smartphone OS capable of slugging it out with finger-friendly offerings from iPhone, Android and webOS. Symbian4 is supposed to variety all that.

While Symbian^3 is on the way to marketplace in the near terminal figure, Symbian4 will succeed the chopines as a complete UI rebuild. It’s the future tense of Nokia, and it’s going away to spearhead the next-generation of Nokia touchscreen phones, so it’s really important that it’s up to snuff.
